Mandatory Reporting Training

Employees of Illinois State University, are obligated to report suspected acts of child abuse and neglect under the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (ANCRA) and report certain crimes/incidents as required by state and federal law. There are also many campus and community resources that are available to support those who may be victims of crimes and/or harassment or assault. All University personnel (including student employees) are required to complete Mandatory Reporting Training (previously known as Crime Reporting Training) upon hire, as well as annually during the month of October to better educate themselves on these state and federal mandates and available resources.

New employees (including student employees) should receive an email inviting them to complete Mandatory Reporting Training (MRT) shortly after being hired. All current employees will receive an email with the link to MRT before the annual training in October. University personnel should complete the online training within 30 days of receipt of this email.

Once completion of the MRT is submitted, the employee can print out a Certificate of Completion from the link provided in the training. This certificate is for your records only and does not have to be submitted to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access.

Training should only be accessed through the link provided in the email sent to each University employee from Training@IllinoisState.edu, and your completion is only recorded in the training system. Failure to complete the training within 30 days of notification and after sufficient reminders will result in the notification of lack of compliance to your supervisor and Human Resources and may lead to disciplinary action.
