Employees of Illinois State University, are obligated to report suspected acts of child abuse and neglect under the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (ANCRA) and report certain crimes/incidents as required by state and federal law. There are also many campus and community resources that are available to support those who may be victims of crimes and/or harassment or assault. All University personnel (including student employees) are required to complete Crime Reporting Training (CRT) upon hire, as well as annually during the month of October to better educate themselves on these state and federal mandates and available resources.
New employees (including student employees) should receive an email, inviting them to complete Crime Reporting Training shortly after being hired. All current employees will receive an email with the link to CRT before the annual training in October. University personnel should complete the online Training within 30 days of receipt of this email.
Crime Reporting Training can be accessed through My Illinois State at https://my.illinoisstate.edu/crime-reporting. Login through the ISU CentralLogin using your ULID and password. Once logged in, you should be taken directly to the Training. Please note that the CRT does not save your progress, meaning you cannot exit and return to the same spot within the Training module. As such, you will need to complete the Training during the same session.
Once CRT is complete, the employee can print out a certificate from the link provided in the Training. The blank certificate can also be found here: DCFS Training Acknowledgement.
Failure to complete the Training within 30 days of notification and after sufficient reminders will result in the notification of lack of compliance to your supervisor and may lead to disciplinary action.
